Boat and Personal Watercraft Detailing

Just like every other service at GK's Custom Polishing, Inc., our boat detailing services are performed at the highest quality standards possible. GK's has been performing watercraft detailing since 1996, so we understand the complexity of all the surfaces on boats.

Everybody knows what type of elements your car is exposed to daily: rain, snow, dirt, salt, construction dust, etc... If you own a boat, you know the list of elements your watercraft is exposed to is even more extreme. Here at GK's we understand that your boat is a large investment and we want to help you preserve that investment for many years to come.

Just like any other high ticket item such as cars, planes or RVs, boats have specific maintenance and detailing needs that should be attended to on a regular basis. Many parts of your boat are easy to maintain or fix up, but if left unattended can present large problems that are expensive and time consuming to repair. Boats are notorious for sharp decreases in resale value in their first few years, largely because most owners do not care for them properly.

Boats have many different materials, including fiberglass, gel coat, bottom paint, canvas, stainless steel, chrome, mahogany, teak and many more.

Fiberglass, for example, is easy to maintain, but can be costly and difficult to repair. Washing and polishing your boat regularly will not only maintain its appearance, but will also help protect the fiberglass and gel coat. In addition to resisting oxidation and being more stain resistant, a properly cleaned and waxed hull will glide through the water more smoothly and with less resistance, giving you a better ride and faster cruising on less fuel.

A quick fresh water spray with the marina hose is no substitute for a thorough detailing job performed on a regular basis. A full detailing job on your powerboat or sailboat may include:

We detail year round! We can detail at the marina, at your home, at our shop or just about anywhere. Due to the high demand in the spring, detailing is done on a first come, first serve basis.

We stay in contact with each boat through the entire detailing process. We call you to let you know the week your boat will be detailed. As we get closer, we let you know the day. And lastly, we let you know once we are finished.

Given the size and complexity of boats, we always do our best to make sure your boat is as perfect as possible. But if something is not right, we will always return to make it right!

We have designed a customized and downloadable form (33K PDF) for you to select the type of services you desire for your boat. We cover all marinas in Northern Ohio, and we can supply any and all documentation needed to perform work at any marina or yacht club.

GK's facility can accommodate any boat up to 40' in length. So, whether it is raining, snowing or sunny out, we can always assist you at our facility.

If necessary, we have the proper equipment to transport your boat anywhere in the continental United States (up to 35' in length).

We also have the room to store your boat year round in our climate controlled facility.
